I was last in July 2023. The doctor called and spoke with me on the phone. Also told me if another dentist did my upper, they would be unethical. The way I was spoken to was unnecessary. Just not right. I will contact the office for my balance owed me. Thank you

The staff are wonderful, however, you may end up paying more than expected. They are not in an insurance network ( which they clearly let you know up front). I called in advance and was quoted $65 for X-rays and a cleaning. My previous dentist (in California) was fantastic and these services were covered for free with my insurance. I thought this was a reasonable price for a very highly rated dentist.
The service went well. Kristi is a great hygienist and I was very pleased. I paid $65 and left.
Two months later I received a bill for an additional $185 not covered by insurance. I spoke with the insurance billing specialist at V&K and she was very nice and took quite a while to explain that the insurance companies will only give estimates of what they will pay and the office does not have an exact price (after insurance) prior to the service. In my case, the actual price was almost 4 times the amount originally quoted.
This is a great dentist but be aware that you may receive a surprise bill months after the visit.

Years ago, my dentist in Austin claimed that I had a cavity in my very back tooth after having my braces removed. Since I don't really understand how to interpret x-rays, I believed him. The filling was very rough and ended up chipping within a relatively short period of time. Life got in the way and I was stuck dealing with it. I later moved to Dallas and started looking around for a dentist who could fix it and was told by several good friends to make an appointment with Dr. David Vaca. I booked the appointment and made the drive out to Longview. Best decision I ever made! The office was super nice, the staff was excellent, and the work was exceptional. Going to the dentist usually causes me such anxiety, but Dr. Vaca and his team really went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. Everyone was so sweet and it made a lasting impression on me.

Years have passed since then, and now it is time to begin thinking about getting a set of veneers. I currently live in the DC area, but will be moving back home to Dallas within the next year and need to look stellar for my interviews. For such a big job, I don't want anyone else touching my teeth besides the people in this office. I'm excited to come out there and get the process started, which says a lot coming from someone who is typically scared of the dentist! :)

This is a great group of professionals that will give you truthful evaluation of your dental needs and a quote on the necessary procedures before they proceed. I have used Dr. Vaca years ago in the Dallas area and know he is meticulous with his work. You will not be able to find any of the enamel fillings he puts in, which is wonderful on your smile. So glad my husband transferred us to Longview where I knew a DDS I can trust. He is now replacing bad dental work from the past 15 years in Virginia. I trust Yelp for reviews since they are by the customers of that business and no money is exchanged to distort the ratings.
