Vaca & Kirby Dental Group Longview, TX is here to take a stand on the issue below.
Aspen Dental Management has recently been receiving some negative attention. The New York Attorney General announced “a settlement with Aspen Dental Management, Inc. that requires the company to pay a $450,000 penalty, remove itself from any clinical decisions within its practices, not split patients’ fees with the clinics and make it clear to consumers that the management company is not a provider of dental services”.
As the manager of multiple clinics, Aspen Dental was said to have “incentivized and pressured staff to increase sales of dental services and products, implementing revenue-oriented patient scheduling systems”, according to the New York Attorney General’s office. We believe that the reason this happened is because the management was outsourced, whereas Vaca & Kirby Dental Group decided to keep our management in-house. We work closely with every member of our team to provide the best care and recommendations for our patients.
Along with the American Dental Association, Vaca & Kirby Dental Group strongly advocates for “noninterference with clinical decision-making and we’re pleased to see that the agreement supports this view. Decisions about dental care should be between the patient and the dentist.”
